2022 Faith & Trust Future Interfaith Leadership Cohort
In 2022 the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago is working with the Faith and Trust Future Interfaith Leader Cohort to foster interfaith relationships and collaboration through dialogue and to explore what conditions are necessary to achieve individual and social trust. The cohort, who hold positions of leadership in ten different faith traditions in the City of Chicago and are all under age 45, has met in monthly seminars with CRLMC members as well as representatives of the Chicago Police Department to learn more about each other, explore issues of community concern, and identify ways to address deficits of mutual trust in the community.
Together, the cohort will develop and conduct a conference on November 16 to address these issues with other emerging faith leaders from across the metropolitan area.
The Faith & Trust Future InterFaith Leader Cohort is provided by the Chicago Community Trust.

Future Interfaith Leadership Conference | November 16, 2022
The Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago hosted the 2022 Future Interfaith Leadership Conference for 40 emerging faith leaders on November 16 at Catholic Theological Union. The goals of the half-day conference were to promote an ethic of understanding and respectful dialogue among the next generation of faith leaders and to share insights on identifying and collaborating on issues of common concern in order to strengthen civic trust. The conference was designed for young faith leaders, out of college and up to age 45, who held formal leadership roles in their communities.
Conference participants represented the religious diversity of the metropolitan area and included adherents of the Baha'i faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, and Zoroastrianism. Christian participants
included adherents from the Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and United Church of Christ denominations. The conference was designed and conducted by members of the CRLMC Faith & Trust Future
InterFaith Leader Cohort.
Funding for the 2022 Future Interfaith Leadership Conference is provided through a Nehemiah Grant from the Chicago Sunday Evening Club.
